Bored? Here’s Our Top 5 Gaming Youtube Channels!

Remember the days when you could turn on G4 and something actually Gaming related would be on? I remember turning on channel 138 and catching an interesting episode of Icons or getting right in the middle of a game cut scene in CinemaTech, but those days are long gone. Now when you flip over to G4 you are greeted by Cops, Cheaters or a completely unrelated movie. Rarely is there a gaming show on, which are scarce on G4 to begin with, such as X-Play or Attack Of The Show. So next time if you want something to watch gaming related, check out a few of these channels from Youtube. These are my favorite in order of my personal preference.

5. Machinima  (http://www.youtube.com/user/machinima)

This channel has a ton of top 10 lists and trailers. What I enjoy watching on this channel are some of the original ideas and concepts that are brought forward on the channel itself. This comes in at # 5 for me.

4. JamesNintendoNerd (http://www.youtube.com/user/jamesnintendonerd)

This is a big time favorite of a lot of Youtube goers and I feel that if I left this out I would definitely be getting a lot of emails! This channels, and James’ videos in general, is extremely entertaining. The production value is excellent ( I swear you could make a case for it being on TV) and the comedy is great. It is meant to be some what satirical and not taken too seriously of course. James reviews a terrible game from older consoles and curses like crazy doing it. I will say this is not a channel that is work safe!

3. Pete’s Game Room (http://www.youtube.com/user/PeteDorr)

I’m a sucker for recently picked up game videos. For some reason I enjoy seeing what other people’s gaming tastes are and to see what kind of gems those people have picked up. Pete seems to have a bunch of these videos and that really made me spend a lot of time watching his videos. Of course his game reviews are good and he even has a couple unboxings. His channel is slightly different as he does also have a few toy collections as well.

2. Matt Chat (http://www.youtube.com/user/blacklily8)

Matt Chat is a fun channel that goes back to the roots of gaming. What really grabbed me about this channel were the obscure choices of games to review and show off. From System Shock 2 (awesome game by the way) to X Com to Rogue your going to see a lot of games that are not common knowledge. This channel can become really interesting just because you will end up expanding your gaming knowledge.

1. Gamester81 (http://www.youtube.com/user/Gamester81)

This is my favorite gaming channel on Youtube. This is the channel that I would find myself staying up till 1 AM watching after losing track of the time. Why is it so interesting? Well here is where you will find some of the most interesting pieces of hardware ever. In one video Gamester81 goes over two different types of handheld CDi systems. Up until that point I had no idea there was such a thing. He also has a video for a Sega Jet ( Sega used on airlines) and even a true PSX (yes the actual DVR system.) If you are a fan of rare hardware and enjoy the walk arounds and gameplay of those systems, check this channel out. I guarantee you will see something you never have before. By the way did you know there is an N64 Power Glove?

So that’s it guys, those channels are great and they are frequently updated. G4 should be ashamed of themselves as everyday people have made better and much more interesting gaming videos. Maybe some time G4 will actually become a gaming channel again, but until then, do yourself a favor and watch the channels above.
